its the long weekend
went prawning yesterday at bishan again. we met a kind uncle who taught us how to prawn and he gave us all of his prawns and two bottles of Heineken before he left. stayed over at cassie's and had mac delivery before we left.

a month has passed since IA started.
frankly speaking, i'm loving the life i'm having now. if only my pay was a little higher though. no homework plus spending power. I like my working environment, colleagues wise of course. ( besides the fact that i stink a lot after work).
Just hope everything will pass smoothly for the next 4 months.
until next time,

"sometimes i have a feeling that you are doubting the things i do and the things i say. if you doubt so much, then why even bother talking? why are you so protective when all you say is "...up to you" when i ask for advice. why do you interfere when i can make my own decisions. why bother critising only after i've done it and not telling me earlier."

i hate saying good byes
friday marked the last day of work for my mentor. i've learnt so much from her in the short 3 weeks. i'll miss the gossiping session about the monster and chit chatting in the lab. and most importantly, i'll miss the laughters. i hate saying good bye.. especially when i just got to know her and realise that we can get along very well...

she handed me a book of secrecy which cannot be seen by the monster. ;P

So, to Liang Jue: All the best in your studies. Promise to keep in contact and we'll meet up for dinner :D
chanced upon this in youtube and thought it was fabulous.
now that is what i call enjoying your wedding :D

me, myself and i
another week of my IA has passed. I'm left with exactly 20 weeks of IA.
this weekend was dedicated to me, myself and I. i decided to turn down gatherings this weekend to spend time with MYSELF. i haven't done so since the end of exams.
browsed through cck library and spontaneously found the original P.S I love you book and another Sidney Shieldon book :D spent most afternoon reading it.
then as I was reading, I was listening to power 98 fm acoustic lounge. and then it struck me that i wanted to continue learning the guitar. the reason I quit my guitar lessons last time was because i thought that my instructor lacked passion and only taught me how to play specific songs instead of the guitar chords. then i might as well learn it myself!

so here i am, with my (7 years) old and a little mouldy guitar. and i'm attempting to learn "have a nice day" by the stereophonics. so far i only managed to play the first six notes. (and also realised that my fingers are rather short)
managed to tune my guitar but only to realise that i no longer have my guitar pick. and coincidently, the yamaha music school in lot 1 has closed down. so i resorted to using my ez-link card as a guitar pick. but it doesn't sound very good ...
yup. don't know how long and committed i can stay in learning this song.
Gosh.. i really wish that there is more than 24 hours a day because there's still so many things i want to do!
monday blues will start tomorrow again! boo! :( but i'm getting a guitar pick after work tomorrow! :D

First week of IA came and went.

been rather busy actually. i was told that my seniors weren't as busy. from the day i joined, samples just keeps coming in. I'm the only intern in my dept but the other chemists are around my age too, so working environment wise its not too bad.
and my mentor is leaving soon. and i heard that they have not hired another chemist. i don't know if i'm to take over her duties but i'm only an intern. i'm a little stressed too cause they trying to make me learn everything in 3 weeks before my mentor leaves. o.O
and i think i'm not experienced enough. for my mentor, one look at the chemical name and she knows the properties and whether its a solid or liquid.. for me.. i still have to go to the system to check.. -_-''
and i found out that most of the stuff that we are eating today are cancer causing :/
especially almond jelly :/ i'm never ever touching almond jelly or any almond flavoured stuff...
first week of IA came and went, and i learnt almost everything in the lab except on how to file documents -_-"

work hard and play hard :D
another week has gone by and with the blink of the eye, almost half of 2009 is gone.
29/06 - Turkish Delight
Met up with Truda and Hui Shan. Wanted to try something exotic and so we tried this turkish restaurant at shaw tower. not bad i would say. nice ambiance and nice food. was great catching up with them :D

30/06 - Dim Sum buffet and Fright Night
Went for Dim Sum Buffet in the afternoon with my family at Marriot Hotel. Nice Food. Just can't get enough of Dim Sum.
Then visited my juniors for fright night. Not that scary tho. Still think my batch is the best.
01/07 - SICK!!
I was actually sick for the past few days cause i didn't have enough rest. it got its worst on wed. and so i spent the whole day in bed, just sleeping and resting the whole day, especially when i reached home at 5am.
02/07 - Beach Games and 4 generation of Omaha gathering.
went for beach games at sentosa. got a little sun burnt but i love the sun :D. played volleyball and then headed to the marina barrage for dinner and a game of taboo :)

03/07 - Dentist and formal wear.
Went to the dentist for a check up today. All's well, no cavities whatsoever. :D wisdom tooth not mature enough to extract.. shall wait for another 6 months.
Was instructed to wear formal wear for the first day of work, so i went to get another set of formal wear clothes and new shoes. spent around $300 today including the visit to the dentist. so much so for saving money :/
and so my two weeks of holiday has gone and came. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. From preparing cassie's birthday, to wakeboarding, to orientation camp and all the mini gatherings in between. I would say that these two weeks would have been the happiest time in my life since i entered uni. So much so that i just want to have this way of life infinitely.
Well, i guess in life, we work hard and play hard. and now play time is over.
A new chapter of my life unfolds tomorrow.
Wish me luck on my first day of internship :D
until next time,
